The Blue Note Record Shop first opened (as Don's Discs too) at Queen and Broadview streets in Toronto in 1979. It had a fabulous 1940s neon sign in the window and in 1981 was re-named in honour of the Chicago store that sign came from.
In 1987 the store moved to 2666 Danforth Avenue but closed in 1989.
The current BlueNote Record & Radio Shop is located inside the Carousel Collectables Antiques Market, 18 Mississaga Street East in Orillia, Ontario. Unfortunately the neon sign is long gone but the original outdoor hanging sign is still on display.
